MSSC staff provide training and consultation to P-12 educators and families in the area of special education collaboration including how to implement evidence-based Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) with students who engage in challenging behaviors and who receive special education services per an Individualized Education Program (IEP); participate as members of Behavior Support Teams (BST) within P-12 school settings; conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs); facilitate the development and implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) for students with diagnosed disabilities; provide guidance with regard to data collection and progress monitoring; continuously evaluate the effectiveness of social and behavioral interventions and recommend adjustments to the plans based on data analysis.
